For a Nashville family building a second home along Florida's famed 30A corridor, the location came with its own set of expectations. Alys Beach is one of the country's most exclusive residential communities, its architecture rigorously curated, its average home selling north of six million dollars, and its oceanfront properties reaching thirty. Betsy and Lauren were tasked with designing a home worthy of the address, one that felt as considered as its surroundings without losing the ease of a true beach retreat.

Working alongside Alys Beach Construction and Pledger Architecture, the team centered the home around a private courtyard built for both entertaining and everyday life, complete with a plunge pool and fountain. Covered outdoor living and a summer kitchen extend the living space outward, while a third-floor rooftop terrace looks west over the rooftops of Alys Beach and its iconic medjool palms, timed perfectly for sunset. Inside, mosaic flooring, white oak cabinetry, and venetian-plaster walls and ceilings finished with lime-washed beams set a refined, textural backdrop. Furnishings and art were layered in with a light coastal hand, giving this family's dream home on the water the elegance the setting demanded.
