House Beautiful Showhouse

For the House Beautiful Showhouse, the Modern Remains team was tasked with designing three rooms with one clear brief: make each one unique and spark inspiration, as these spaces were about to be explored by 20,000 ticket-holders. Working alongside builder Castle Homes and architect Kevin Coffey, the team designed the breakfast room, stair landing, and media room, three spaces with very different jobs.

The media room leans into a swanky, speakeasy feel, with multi-level seating that reimagines how a media room is laid out. The stair landing was designed as a destination rather than a passage, a spot to sit with a book rather than simply move through. The breakfast room was designed to be a bold and happy place to start the day. The showhouse also partnered closely with Wellness Within Your Walls, earning its designers certification in the program's wellness principles and the home itself a certified WWYW distinction. The spaces were covered widely in the media - from print publications and blogs to viral social media content.
